Babilou Family Group launches its Scientific Education Committee

Babilou Family, one of the global leaders in education and early childhood care, operating in 10 countries, has consistently relied on neuroscience research to drive the evolution of its educational practices. Following the announcement of its new 2025– 2028 strategic plan, which reaffirms its educational mission, the Group is taking a new step forward with the launch of its Scientific Education Committee, composed of five international experts. Its mission is to reinforce the connection between research and educational practices in its nurseries and schools to foster child development, support parents, and strengthen professional expertise.

A new milestone in Babilou Family’s commitment to education

Since 2022, Babilou Family has undertaken a profound effort to evolve its educational practices based on neuroscience and research on early childhood development. The company has deepened its commitment by publishing the book Sustainable Education and organizing the International Congress on Neuroscience on Early Childhood Education in partnership with UNESCO in 2024. As part of its 2025–2028 strategic plan, Babilou Family reaffirmed its educational mission, aiming to help children develop curiosity, self-confidence, and social skills. Within its new value proposition, the Group committed to further its educational mission to offer the highest level of education to all children welcomed across its ten countries.

A committee of internationally renowned scientists

To continue improving educational programs, Babilou Family announced the creation of a Scientific Education Committee composed of five recognized experts: Dr. Grégoire Borst (Paris Cité University, France), Dr. Carmen Dione (University of Trois-Rivières, Canada), Dr. Angela Low (University of Vancouver, Canada), Dr. Edward Melhuish (University of Oxford, UK), and Dr. Amalini Simon (APHP, Paris). A pedagogical innovation, the Scientific Education Committee aims to create a link between scientific research and the teaching methods in all the Group's nurseries, serving children, supporting parents, and training early childhood professionals. The Scientific Education Committee met for the first time in mid-November 2025 to define the topics it will work on, in collaboration with educational directors from the 10 countries where the Group operates.

A structured work program around three themes

In 2026, the Committee will focus on three themes:

Parenting: in partnership with Dr. Angela Low from the University of Vancouver in Canada, this study aims to observe the impact of the nursery experience on parents, child education, and the family environment, with a view to making the nursery a place where parents can develop their understanding and parenting skills. This project will be implemented in Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Multilingualism: In partnership with Dr. Amalini Simon (APHP, Paris), following a project with Maison de Solenn, the goal is to promote mother tongues in nurseries, by allowing children to express themselves in the language spoken at home. This project will be implemented in the United States and France in particular.

Inclusion: In partnership with Dr. Carmen Dione (University of Trois-Rivières, Canada), the objective is to work on educational practices that foster inclusion among children, mainly through field observation. This research will enable nursery professionals to enhance their skills in observing children. The project will be implemented in Singapore and Germany, among other places.

The work will begin in December 2025 and will benefit children, their parents, and all Babilou Family professionals.

We are proud to launch the work of the Scientific Education Committee. This is a major step forward in building a bridge between research and the practice of our educational methods in nurseries. Our ambition is clear: to offer children, parents, and professionals pedagogical approaches based on scientific advances, ensuring the highest level of education for the children we welcome”, said Christophe Fond, CEO and President of Babilou Family
